ABOUT WHEN
The Women’s Health and Economic Empowerment Network (WHEN) was established to create a streamlined financial platform to align leaders from various G7 government agencies, UN Institutions, private sector partners, philanthropists, and others with a shared goal of improving women’s access to capital and healthcare across the globe. The WHEN platform designs and scales solutions to address challenges in health, education, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.
WHEN’s mission is to help organizations achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes by scaling their existing efforts through innovative financing mechanisms. Despite the efforts taken by many low-and-middle income countries to improve healthcare at a population level, there remain substantial gaps in financing these policies.
What sets WHEN apart is its approach to sustainable funding, commitment to supporting innovative solutions for global challenges, and ability to help programs identify and source alternative funding platforms. WHEN works with its network of partners throughout the design, deployment, and scaling processes, ensuring that sustainability is a priority from the conceptual phases.
In addition to designing and scaling solutions, WHEN works to identify, leverage, and connect projects to a wide range of alternative sources for funding. This includes technical assistance and grant funding, concessional capital, loans, guarantees, and equity investment.
